The Thinker by Kay Wyne

The Thinker
8" x 8" Oil on RayMar Panel
$250
This little painting went thru some changes...I started with a cad yellow panel.  Once I painted the rooster in, I thought this sitting rooster was taking himself too seriously, so I changed the background into something fun and whimsical for some contrast.  I deliberately put some fun colors of turqoise and orange bouncing around on this painting for the #6 30-30 Challenge.  You can tell that I used my brights and didn't get fussy with my brushstrokes.  The Thinker was fun to paint....and he is for sale if you are interested.  Check out all of the entries for the 30-30 Challenge Slices of Life by Leslie Saeta I I will be back in the studio today to paint #7....Thanks for viewing this blog....kay@kwyne.com. I See Everything by Kay Wyne

I See Everything
Contemporary Oil Painting
This 18" x 36" Gallery Wrap Canvas has the image of the pig coming off the canvas as if he was walking towards you.  I used a very wide brush to apply the oils.  His eyes are hidden by his big, floppy ears, but he could see, therefore the title, I See Everything.  My inspiration for this painting was a pig that I photographed on a recent trip to Illinois.  Thanks for viewing this blog and my art...Kay

Piggy Wiggy by Kay Wyne

Piggy Wiggy
18" x 18" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Painting by Kay Wyne
I had to paint this piggy that I saw scampering around at an Amish farm in Illinois a couple of weeks ago....he had a great shape, wonderful coloring, and ran around the farm with an attitude.  I think he was in charge.....this pig was running loose, checking out the horses, cattle, and sheep.  I don't know if he had broken out of his pen, but when he can running towards me I hopped back into the car.  I wanted Piggy Wiggy on a square canvas because of his stockiness.  It was intentional to have him painted off the canvas to imply his size and give interest to the painting.  Thanks for viewing this blog and the art posted.  Kay at 214-532-0325 or kay@kwyne.com

Oh So Proud by Texas Artist Kay Wyne

Oh So Proud
Oil on Linen
Sold!
This contemporary turkey sold yesterday at The Dutch Art Gallery Dallas TX.
Thanks to owner Pam Massar who sold it to a collector from out of state.  Also a big thanks to Mimi....who encouraged me to paint a turkey several months ago, a creature that had not made it to my easel until I was asked to do a commission.  I have painted many roosters and chickens, but for some reason, the Tom Turkey had not been attempted.  Thanks for viewing my blog...we have returned from a eight day trip to Maine, so I have some ideas and wonderful inspiration for some new paintings!  Thanks, Kay
